How to take couple photos without a photographer
Get both of you in the picture using a stable phone setup, a test frame and simple prompts that work with a timer or hands-free capture.

Find a safe place for the phone first
Use a tripod or a secure, stable support. Avoid balancing your phone on a narrow ledge or placing it somewhere people will need to step around it. Keep the device within sight and choose a quiet spot where you can stay aware of your surroundings.
Place one person in the frame while the other adjusts the camera. Leave room for the second person and check the background at both head positions. A frame that works for one portrait may feel too tight once you stand together.
Choose a prompt you can repeat
Try standing side by side and looking at each other, walking a few steps across the scene or sitting together and talking. Pick an action that does not require perfect timing. A leap or a fast spin is much harder to coordinate when neither person is behind the camera.

Make the photo feel like your time together
After the straightforward photo, include an activity you actually enjoy: reading a menu, looking at a map or sharing a conversation. You do not need to stage an elaborate romantic moment for the image to mean something.
If one person dislikes posing, agree on a short attempt and let them choose a prompt. Look at the photos together and keep images both people are comfortable with. Before sharing publicly, check that your partner likes the choice too.
